State Senate President Kevin de Leon has begun rallying public support behind his legislation that sets a 2045 goal for conversion of California’s electric grid to 100% renewable energy, something no economy as complex and large has fully committed to doing.
Tiny Hawaii is the only other US state that has completely embraced renewables, but its Sri Lanka-size economy pales in comparison with California’s – the sixth largest globally.
