A US naval engineering group has unveiled plans for an offshore wind installation vessel (WTIV) that can handle 8MW turbines while complying with the strictures of the Jones Act.
AK Suda – a New Orleans-based specialist in lift-boats for the oil & gas sector – said its debut offshore wind vessel, the JG600P, will be capable of carrying and installing four complete 8MW offshore turbines.
