A key committee in the Wyoming Legislature has turned back the latest proposal for an increase in the state’s $1/MWh wind energy generation tax, although a Republican lawmaker pledges to promote the issue again in the future.

After listing to testimony from industry representatives, local government officials and private citizens, the 14-member Joint Revenue Interim Committee defeated the proposal in a voice vote late last week.
