Capital Energy – which won 720MW of the 1.13GW of wind capacity awarded in Spain’s latest renewables auction – is closing in on a deal with a turbine supplier for all its projects, to be built by Saudi Arabian construction giant Alfanar.

The Madrid-headquartered developer, headed up by chief executive Jesus Martin Buezas, plans to name specific wind farm projects in the Spanish regions of Andalusia, Castile and Leon, and Asturias within the next six months, a Capital Energy executive told Recharge.
