The UK Carbon Trust’s Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA) has been awarded a further £1.5m ($2m) from the Scottish Government to help continue the research and development programme aimed at driving down the cost of offshore wind.

Scotland already awarded the Carbon Trust an initial £1.5m to support the group’s European phase. The new investment will help the Carbon Trust to continue to explore “the opportunity that offshore wind offers to Scotland”, “encourage international collaboration” and “share knowledge on innovation and cost reduction between partners”, it said.
