Broadwind Energy swung to a deficit in the second quarter, as wind tower sales tumbled with the industry working through large inventories accumulated last year to qualify projects for the full federal production tax credit (PTC).
Sales fell 10% versus a year earlier in the company’s key towers and weldments business, while it reported no new orders last quarter.
