JPMorgan Chase, the largest bank in the US and the third largest globally, announced that it will power 100% of its energy needs from renewables by 2020, and revealed a power-purchase agreement with the 100MW Buckthorn wind project in Texas that could be merely the tip of the iceberg.

The bank's multi-faceted approach to powering its global operations entirely from renewables will include both PPAs with remotely sited projects as well as on-site installations.
