EDPR profits soar as wind giant adds 700MW to portfolio

Profits more than doubled at global wind developer EDPR as the Portugal-based group piled on more than 700MW of capacity around the world.

EDPR posted a net profit of €134m ($156m) in the first half of 2017, up from €59m at the same stage last year, as revenues grew 11% to €988m.

The main driver of the uplift was additional capacity, with EDPR ending the period with 707MW more installed than in June 2016.
