ZephIR’s nacelle-top lidar has been anointed by certification body DNV GL as measuring wind speeds to a “very accurate level”, in the latest advance for turbine-fixed sensor technology.
Verification trialling of the kit, carried out at the new Janneby test site in Germany, used a ZephIR DM system mounted horizontally on a raised platform 180-metres away from two reference met masts each equipped with calibrated anemometers at DNV GL’s R&D site, located 20km away in Flensburg.
