The UK government has been called on to look again at its policy towards allowing the development of onshore wind farms, following a new report commissioned by Iberdrola-owned ScottishPower Renewables.
The report by engineering consultants Arup finds that if onshore wind projects were given access to future contract-for-difference (CfD) auctions, then they could be built for about the same cost as new gas-fired power stations.
