Norwegian utility Statkraft saw an improved financial performance at its wind power operation thanks to increased output and lower costs.

Statkraft’s wind unit delivered an underlying Ebitda profit of NKr163m ($20m) for the January to June period, turning around a negative NKr10m figure at the same stage last year.

The company said higher returns from its UK equity investments, higher output at Nordic wind farms and a lower costs bill due to fewer employees all played a part.
