The US offshore wind sector moved another step forward as the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) issued its first approval for a utility-scale project Site Assessment Plan (SAP) for the Dong Energy-led 1GW Bay State project off Massachusetts.
Bay State – which the Danish offshore wind pacesetter is developing with local utility Eversource in a 50/50 partnership – is seeking to feed in power to the state as part of Massachusetts’ 1.6GW
