London-based marine and engineering consultancy LOC Renewables has been contracted by Danish player Dong Energy for work on the 1.2GW Hornsea 1 offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
Under the deal, with an undisclosed value, LOC will carry out marine warranty surveying (MWS) services on what will be the world’s biggest wind farm. Hornsea 1, which will consist of 174 turbines installed off the Yorkshire coast, is scheduled for commissioning in 2020.
