UK government-industry body the Carbon Trust has launched a competition to hatch new, lower cost ways of inspecting offshore wind turbine foundations.

Shepherded under its Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA), a collaborative R&D programme funded by nine leading offshore wind developers and the Scottish government, the scheme is open to technology companies with innovative techniques in gathering information and data on grout integrity and welds for monopiles and jackets.
