Developer Dong Energy and turbine OEM Siemens Gamesa have linked with three UK universities for a £7.6m ($9.8m) five-year research push to lower offshore wind’s future cost of energy.

The two companies – the world’s number-one offshore wind developer and turbine supplier respectively – will work with the universities of Sheffield, Durham and Hull.
