Wind generated a record 20.7% of power consumed within the main electric grid in Texas this year through June, up from 15.1% for all of 2016, as the industry continues to add gigawatts of capacity in blustery regions of the state.

Equally important, Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), grid operator for the largest US wind power market, continues to find ways to both reliably integrate increasing quantities of wind energy into system operations and actively improve the power quality of the network.
