Siemens Gamesa will supply 752MW of turbines to Dong Energy’s Borssele 1&2 offshore wind project off the Netherlands, the OEM announced.
The deal will see the Spain-based manufacturer deliver 94 of its 8MW machines to the project, which Dong secured in a Dutch government auction in July 2016 that gave it four years to bring them online.
The deal, which includes maintenance, is a major win for Siemens Gamesa in the Netherlands’ ongoing programme of offshore wind auctions, which is set to tender for several gigawatts more over the next few years as it pursues a 3.5GW
