The North Carolina legislature has sent a bill to Governor Roy Cooper for his approval that would impose an 18-month moratorium on approval of permits for new wind projects and expansion of Avangrid Renewables’ 208MW facility – the only one in operation in the state.
Meanwhile, two other developers of advanced wind projects in the state, Apex Clean Energy and RES Americas, said they would likely pull their projects if the moratorium becomes law.
