US energy giant Invenergy is suing one of Poland’s biggest utilities for about $325m over alleged failure to honour wind power purchase agreements (PPAs), claiming the involvement of "former representatives" of the Polish Treasury makes it a test case of investor confidence in the country’s energy sector.

Invenergy claims state-controlled Tauron Polska Energia engaged in “unlawful and unethical acts” to cause the termination of long-term deals to buy power and green certificates from wind farms owned by the US group in the Central European country.
