Spain has pushed back the date for its second renewable energy auction – expected to seek 3GW of wind and solar capacity – by a little over a week to 26 July, energy minister Alvaro Nadal said.

A spokeswoman for the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE) confirmed to Recharge that the new auction had been put back from 18 to 26 July.

The AEE has called for greater clarity on future auction timing in order to offer more certainty on what the Spanish government wants from wind, solar and other technologies, and over what time period.
