Statkraft is selling its remaining stakes in offshore wind projects and exiting the sector because it believes it is not big enough to compete with larger rivals, the Norwegian utility’s chief executive tells Recharge.

“We are capital-restrained [as a state-owned company], so we had to make a choice on where to invest among our large investment areas, which are hydropower, onshore wind and offshore wind,” Christian Rynning-Tønnesen explains.
