China is on course to hit 403GW of connected wind power by the end of 2026, with additions picking up after 2020 as the country’s grid-crunch eases, according to industry analyst MAKE.

The consulting group expects annual grid-connected wind installations to run below 25GW in 2017-20 as the sector suffers ongoing issues with curtailment, and feels the impact of government action to reduce the problem in provinces where it’s at its worst.
