The UK “urgently” needs to set up new strategies and policies to address climate change risks as the country’s transition to a resilient, low-carbon economy is in danger of being derailed by a lack of Government action, the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) said in its latest report.

According to the Committee’s findings, good progress has been made to date, as greenhouse gas emissions are about 42% lower than in 1990, around half way to the 2050 commitment to reduce emissions by at least 80% on 1990 levels.
