Spain’s domestic wind sector, almost at a standstill since 2013 when retroactive cuts to the country’s support regime destroyed confidence in the sector, is showing signs of new life with two 3GW tenders in two months – but it's clear rebuilding trust in government policies will need more than a couple of auctions.

A degree of cautious optimism was apparent at the Spanish Wind Energy Association’s third annual congress in Madrid last week, where over 250 delegates packed into two giant halls with seemingly high expectations of a change for the better after a long period of little new activity.
