Pattern buys Willow Creek wind project, its first in South Dakota

Pattern Development, the sponsor company of yieldco Pattern Energy, has acquired its first wind project in South Dakota – the 103MW Willow Creek development.

Pattern will buy the Willow Creek project from Wyoming-based developer Wind Quarry. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

It’s the first project acquisition for Pattern since last week, when it announced a $724m financing package for privately held Pattern Development and an investment from Canada’s Public Sector Pension Investment Board that will make it the largest shareholder in publicly listed Pattern Energy.
