Brazil’s National Development Bank (BNDES) has approved R$1bn ($320m) in financing for the construction of three wind power complexes in the country’s Northeastern region, totalling 311MW.

The biggest was a R$486.4m loan to France’s EDF EN do Brasil, the local unit of EDF Energies Nouvelles, to build the Ventos da Bahia 1, 2, 9 and 18 projects located in the state of Bahia.
