Dutch wind OEM Lagerwey has commissioned a first prototype of its L136-4.5MW onshore turbine with a 136-metre rotor at the port of Eemshaven in the Netherlands.

The manufacturer after the summer will start the construction of a second identical turbine in the vicinity, using what Lagerwey says is the world’s first climbing crane that it unveiled last year.

Lagerwey is one of the few turbine manufacturers with onshore turbines of 4MW or more on the market, along with much larger rivals Gamesa and Enercon.
