A cooperation agreement with the municipal council on Estonia’s Hiiumaa island has brought a 700MW-1.1GW offshore wind project off the island closer to being built, although no financial close has been reached yet, 4Energia chief executive Martin Kruus tells Recharge.

“We are moving closer” to a financial close, Kruus said. “The locals are now a partner in this project.”

Estonia continues in talks “to find some cross-border scheme” with an EU partner to help finance the project, the CEO said.
