Germany-based wind turbine manufacturer Senvion is designing a 3.7MW onshore machine with a 144-metre rotor to be first used at the 429MW Murra Warra wind project in Australia’s Victoria state.

The turbine – an upgrade to the OEM’s 3.XM platform that so far only reaches 3.6MW and a 140-metre rotor – is being designed for Australia, but Senvion will look how the model could fit strategically also into other markets, a company spokesman said.
