Turbine maker MHI Vestas has partnered with United Wind Logistics (UWL) on a long-term charter for the Vestvind transport barge to shuttle V164 components for upcoming orders.
The vessel, bearing the MHI Vestas logo, has left port on its lead-off assignment ferrying nacelles and towers from the OEM’s factory in Esbjerg, Denmark, to Belfast, Northern Ireland, where they will be assembled for installation at Dong’s 660MW Walney Extension project.
