Tenaska secured a 250MW power purchase agreement for its Nobles 2 wind project in Minnesota and confirmed Vestas as the turbine supplier, underscoring the independent power producer’s (IPP) recently expanded focus on wind.
Minnesota Power, the largest regulated utility unit of Allete, will buy the power from the $400m Nobles 2 project, which is set to enter construction next year in southwestern Minnesota and is due for commercial operation in late 2019.
