German grid agency BNetzA has launched a 1GW second auction for onshore wind power this year, following a first 807MW auction in May that marked the change from a feed-in tariff-based support system to one relying on tenders.
“After mostly citizens’ cooperatives were successful in the first round, we are interested in how this will impact bidding behavior,” says BNetzA president Jochen Homann.
