Marine contractor GustoMSC has launched its next generation offshore installation vessel, a self-propelled jack-up with telescopic leg crane, for the coming 10MW-plus wind turbine models.

The NG-20000X design, which uses the company’s proven VSD jacking system, has a variable load capacity of 16,500 tonnes, meaning the unit can make a roundtrip to a project site transporting six complete sets of components with a turbine weight of 1,000 tonnes, or carrying pieces of 900-tonne jacket foundations, “optimising the cost per installed turbine or foundation”.
