Apex Clean Energy has completed the largest renewables project ever backed by the US military, encompassing a 50MW wind farm and a 15MW solar array that will cover half the power needs of the US Army's Fort Hood in Texas, the world’s largest military base by size.
Through a new retail electric subsidiary, known as ACE Power, Apex will deliver all of the energy required by Fort Hood, with half to come from the wind and solar plants and the rest from conventional sources.
