Duke Energy this week clipped the ribbon at its 200MW Frontier wind farm, notable for being Duke’s first wind project in Oklahoma and the first anywhere in the US to use Vestas’ 126-metre rotor blades.

The Frontier plant, located near Blackwell, Oklahoma – near the Kansas border – uses 61 of Vestas’ V126-3.3MW, and sells all of its power under a 22-year off-take deal with the City Utilities of Springfield, Missouri.
