GE Renewable Energy confirmed that it will supply turbines for the 800MW Phu Cuong wind farm being developed in Vietnam by Ireland’s Mainstream Renewable Power, with financial close for the first 200MW phase expected next year.

Last year GE Energy Financial Services (GE EFS) and Mainstream announced they would jointly develop, build and operate wind projects in Vietnam. Mainstream, a major renewables developer in a number of important emerging markets, later elaborated on its plans, saying it had signed deals to build 940MW in the country – including the 800MW Phu Cuong with GE EFS.
