US independent power provider Invenergy has awarded an order to GE Renewable Energy to provide 120 of its GE2.5-116 turbines for its 300MW Santa Rita wind farm in Reagan Country, Texas.

Invenergy, a long-time client of GE, plans to commission the wind farm by the end of the year.

“Invenergy and GE have a long history of successfully working together to provide several gigawatts of affordable, reliable, sustainable energy,” said Pete McCabe, chief executive of GE’s onshore wind business.
