Industry body WindEurope has hailed community projects for stealing the show in Germany’s first onshore wind tender under the country’s reformed EEG renewable energy law.
“Public engagement and the involvement of citizens is a key ingredient of a successful energy transition,” says Giles Dickson, chief executive of WindEurope.
“We are delighted that the German wind sector is successfully handling the transition to the auctioning system, with a key role for community projects.”
