With big targets and projects now in place in several states, nearly everyone agrees the US offshore wind industry is set to shift from infancy to adolescence over the coming decade. Yet despite growing clarity on the policy side, wide disagreement persists as to just how quickly the market takes off.

On the more conservative side of the spectrum are analysts such as Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), which expects 3-4GW of US offshore wind to be in place by 2030.
