Offshore wind needs to show the Taiwanese government it can deliver the country’s first projects on time and with a downwards cost curve if it wants to keep momentum in the nation’s fledgling sector, an industry conference was told.

Taiwan’s 2020 goal is to reach 520MW offshore wind, 3GW by 2025 and 4GW in the five years after that. That would mean that by 2030 the country would have 800 turbines installed in its waters, which range between 30 and 100 metres.
