Europe has invested a record-breaking €43bn ($47bn) last year in developing onshore and offshore wind energy, with the UK claiming the top spot as the biggest market, according to research from industry body WindEurope.
The construction of new wind farms, refinancing operations, project acquisitions and public market fundraising increased by 22% year-on-year, however the cash is expected to slide this year, said WindEurope.
