Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has named Markus Tacke as CEO of the newly-created wind power giant.
Tacke – previously CEO of the Siemens Wind Power business – replaces Ignacio Martín at the top of Siemens Gamesa, which was formed in April by the merger between the German group’s wind unit and Gamesa of Spain.
Martin had already indicated he would step down soon after completion of the deal, which created a wind business with €11bn ($12bn) of annual revenues.
