The quintet of spar-buoy floating wind turbines for Statoil's landmark 30MW Buchan Deep array off Scotland are taking shape across the North Sea at Bassoe's base on the west coast of Norway.

The Siemens SWT-6.0-154 turbines are currently being fitted to their towers. In the coming weeks the cylindrical steel spar substructures, fabricated at Navantia's Fene, Spain yard, will be arriving at the assembly facility, in Stord.
