The Adwen AD8-180 offshore wind turbine prototype is “mechanically complete” on its pad in Bremerhaven, Germany, the OEM has confirmed.
The 8MW unit, now owned by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy following the merger of the two companies, is set to swiftly move into a final testing stage before serial production for a 1.5GW pipeline of wind power projects of France gets underway next year.
