Siemens' Wind Power and Renewables division had the strongest order growth of any of its industrial businesses in its financial second quarter, as the German industrial giant said a successful launch of the newly-formed Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is a key focus for the rest of the year.

Siemens – which will in future concentrate its wind power activities through the new business – unveiled an upbeat set of sector figures as it presented its first financial report since the deal to form Siemens Gamesa closed on 3 April, with the German group holding a 57% stake.
