Despite ominous warnings from its lawyers beforehand, Siemens Gamesa won’t “for the time being” challenge Brazil’s clearance of the acquisition of LM Wind Power by GE and says the deal won’t affect its strategy there, after a lengthy anti-trust process that exposed brittle nerves in a diminished Brazilian wind market.

The wind OEM – a major player in the Brazilian market under the Gamesa name – had lodged an unsuccessful last-minute challenge on 18 April to approval of the purchase of the blade-maker by rival manufacturer GE after almost six months of proceedings.
