The US wind industry installed 2GW of capacity in the first quarter of 2017, the most during the period since 2009 and boosting the total nationwide to 84.14GW, latest American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) data released today shows.

Twelve states commissioned a total of 25 projects led by Texas with 724MW, followed by Kansas (481MW), New Mexico (242MW), North Carolina (208MW) and Michigan (149MW).
