Bourbon has landed the job of mooring France’s first floating wind turbine, the 2MW unit for the EU FloatGen project off the coast of western France.
The contractor’s subsea services team will handle mooring installation and engineering for the floater, made up of a 2MW Vestas turbine and Ideol’s 'damping pool' platform concept, at the SEM-REV test site run by Ecole Centrale de Nantes off Le Croisic this summer.
