Pattern Development has filed a petition for a siting certificate with regulators in Mississippi, a key step required for construction of its proposed 2GW Southern Cross wind energy transmission line.
The project would be the first to link Texas, the US state with the most wind capacity, with the southeast, a fast-growing, energy-hungry region that utilizes large quantities of coal for electric power generation.
