DNV GL has launched a suite of so-called Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) testing services for the Indian wind market to ensure the nation’s growing capacity is grid compliant.

LVRT, the ability of network-connected equipment to cope with a short-term low grid voltage event, allows grid-compliant wind turbines to maintain grid stability rather than tripping off the network.

With the Indian government’s ambitious plans for 175GW of renewable capacity by 2022, including some 60GW of wind power, the move is designed to support grid stability and improve security of supply.
